ABOUT US

We are a family business located on the outskirts of Canada’s capital, Ottawa, Ontario.

In our family, we have active mountain bikers, skiers, snowboarders, white water canoers, campers and hikers. In short we love the outdoors. Our first family Sprinter was bought in 2011 and has provided years of service as a passenger vehicle, handy moving vehicle and has shuttled extended family to various adventures.

In 2021, as a 26 year General Motors Grand Master Electrical Technician, there was a need to shift my career.  With family ties to Austria, I was introduced to Essential Vans and took a trip in September of 2021 to see their shop and build my first Van with the owners.

Both owners of Essential Vans are active individuals and passionate about their product development.  What caught my eye was the level of engineering and build quality. The idea to turn a regular Mercedes Sprinter into a more versatile useable van was something I had been investigating.  A step up from sleeping on the ground but not so far up that it seems you never left your house.  A van built for families on the go with numerous activities in their lives. An “Essential Van”. After all, what good is a camper that sits around waiting for your next camping trip? 

So, after 10 months of planning, organizing and working on importing Essential Vans products to North America, we built our first Essential Van in Canada, and we are passionate about bringing this high quality system to Canadians.
